Jones State Forest
Has anyone else been to Jones State Forest off 45 & 1488? If not, you are missing a great area to go riding. The trails are very wide and maintained. We've been there when the parking area was packed with trailers, but only ran into other groups 2 or 3 times. Lots of room to ride. Most of it is just easy riding, so if you are looking for adventure trails, this is not it.
Anyway we are going to try and go in the next couple of weeks. We usually go on Saturday morning. If anyone wants to go, just give me a holler.

- This is, as you say, a great riding area. However, I believe that it has been closed due to the construction on 1488. I would check it out before hauling over there. It is a fab place to ride - the trails are wide enough to accommodate 3 horses abreast. You can't get lost as the trails are in an "H" shape; however, you can go off the main trails and wander around on smaller trails. There is a pond for the kids to fish in and stuff. No bbq pits, so bring a sack lunch. Last time we were there, there were large puddles which we made our colt go thru and found out that he really loved water! I highly recommend this park!!
